COVID-19 SAFETY PROTOCOLS

THE SECURITY AND HEALTH

OF YOU AND YOUR FAMILY IS TOP PRIORITY

Our practice has revised many procedures and protocols designed to ensure your safety and well-being while at the office. The protocols begin the moment you arrive at the clinic. The check-in process has been simplified to limit the amount of time you must spend providing personal information upon arrival at our office. Most of the information we need for your examination will be collected during the process of making an appointment with us over the phone.

When You Arrive At Your Appoinment

Please arrive for your appointment no more than five minutes before the time of your scheduled appointment time, as there are limits on the number of people that can be in the clinic at one time. The front entrance will have hand sanitizer for your use, and the staff will ask you to use it upon entering the building. We encourage all patients to enter the office alone unless accompanied by a parent or guardian. Make sure you bring a mask to your appointment. In the case that you do not have one, we will give you one of our brand new masks.

Please note :

Those who enter or remain in our clinic are required to wear a mask covering their nose, mouth, and under their chin for the duration of their visit. Our staff and patrons' safety is our top priority. If necessary, we reserve the right to refuse entry.

You Are Requested To Reschedule Your Appointment If:

You feel sick or are experiencing one or more of these symptoms: fever, cough, sore throat, shortness of breath, loss of smell or taste.
You have been outside of New York in the past 14 days
You have been in contact with anyone with COVID-19 in the past 14 days
It is strongly recommended that you do not visit our office if you fall into any of these categories. Please contact us to rebook your appointment. We will be happy to accommodate your needs.

What Amplify Manhattan Is Doing:

It's important to us that we practice social distancing. You are requested to keep a distance of two metres between you and anyone else in the office during your visit. Signs are posted as reminders, and floor decals are available to aid your navigation.
For times when social distancing is not possible (during your eye exam and an eyewear fitting), we have appropriate PPE available to keep you safe and our staff as well as the optometrists. The items include but are not limited to sneeze shields, face shields, safety eyewear, N95 masks, and gloves.

As part of a new healthy, clean and safe disinfection process, we have implemented the following steps:

Before frames are returned to our frame displays, all eyewear that is tried on is thoroughly cleaned and sanitized in a UV sterilization oven.
We have hand sanitizers available throughout the clinic. Patients are asked to wash their hands upon arrival at the office and wear a face mask. Those who do not have masks will be given one. A supply of fresh gloves will also be available for those patients who prefer to wear them.
We have increased the frequency of disinfecting high touch areas (door handles, chair arms, desktops, etc.).
We will continuously sanitize all examination equipment after each patient.
Staff and optometrists should wash their hands frequently, between each patient interaction, and throughout the day.

Limiting Contact

We will also continue to seek ways to provide you with the same level of service with fewer points of contact. To find out more information, call our office at 212-752-6930.

Testimonials

At Amplify with Dr Wernick I was seeking help for seemingly intractable, probably age-related dryness. I've seen other doctors about it, and that has been helpful, but what he explained to me about it and the careful way he answered all my questions gave me so much more of a clear understanding of what is going on (and is not) that I am more able to implement all his and others' recommendations than I was before. And he gave me additional resources for further follow-up. I am most grateful.

Wow! This is a great Eye Care medical facility. I was thoroughly examined by Dr. Pinkhasov for over 2 hours. She made sure to check my eyes for pretty much everything and patiently explained proper care for my eyes. They definitely know how to provide great care and treat their patients right. Now I know why they have such a great reputation and been around for so long.

Dr. Kavner is a gifted diagnostician and orthoptic therapist. He treated me several decades ago for a condition similar to dyslexia. I was having migraines five times per week. I worked with him for about a year and I experienced tremendous improvement (down to 3-4 per year) that has lasted.

Mary K.

Dr. Kavner recommended two types of eye therapy for my daughter. One of them using bio-feedback. In just three sessions she is seeing considerably better. She shouted this morning: Ooh my God! I could not see these letters with my glasses on, and now I can see them without my glasses. If you are willing and able to invest in improving your vision, this is a good place to go to!

I have always found Dr Kavner's work, expertise and wisdom of the highest caliber. As one of the fathers of OT, occupational othomology, his depth and breadth of knowledge about the eyes' health and wellbeing of the patient is exemplary. Cannot say enough good things about him.
